Atlanta captioned “Motherland Hustle’’.
They told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos that the documentary was based on five Nigerian celebrities: Giomani, Kaha, Flo, Kobe and Eldee.
The documentary will chronicle their day- to-day hustle in Atlanta with a sub-plot of their search for love and romance.
The series was produced by Gorilla Films and directed by Eli Brown, an Atlanta-based Video Director.
The series will be aired on Nigerian channels, in other African countries and in the U.S.
Kaha told NAN that the documentary was aimed at debunking misperceptions about Nigerians.
“The aim of the show, “Motherland Hustle’’ is to change the perception of people about Nigerians and make them know that Nigerians can be legally successful.
“The world needs to know that we are strong and ambitious people with jaw-dropping childhood stories; most of us came from nothing to something.
“I want the show to inspire youths and let them know that we not only work hard, but also play hard.
“We aim to provide entertainment; people should be able to relate to our situations.
“Sometimes, it is the `fool in love’ situation, the loud mouth in the bunch situation; however, it is a reflection of situations in everyday people’s lives,’’ he said.
Eldee on his part said that the documentary would highlight the leisurely disposition of Nigerians abroad.
“Although there is nothing wrong in giving people the entertainment they want, we aim to be as real and outspoken as possible and realistic and positive.
“The show will project love, fashion, what we do with our lives, drama and emotional turning points.
“Remember that real emotions connect the audience, as the characters become human and relatable; so, we advise people to be themselves and stop acting out their lives,’’ he said.
NAN reports that Eldee the Don is a popular Nigerian artiste and architect who founded a major label, Trybe Records, in the late 1990s.
He took the Nigerian music scene by storm with two hits in 1999 – “Trybal Marks’’ and “Shake Bodi’’ – and a successful debut album called “L.A.G. Style’’.
Kaha is also a respected artiste whose hit songs, “Caro’’ and “Heart Robber’’, featuring 2Face Idibia, are still popular among music buffs in the country. (NAN)
