ENUGU – The National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has impounded counterfeit goods worth over N3 million in Enugu, Mr John Okwori, a Deputy Director of the agency, has said.
Briefing newsmen on Monday in Enugu on efforts to rid the state of fake and substandard products, Okwori said that the goods were intercepted at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport due to the agency’s surveillance at the airport.
Okwori, who is in charge of operations at the airport, said that the agency would make life difficult for miscreants who used the airport as entry routes for contraband and substandard products.
The deputy director expressed regret that in spite of increased campaign to rid the country of such products, some unscrupulous elements had persisted in the business.
He said that the agency had uncovered a new means adopted by the perpetrators of the act in bringing their wares into the country.[eap_ad_2]
