Lafia – Silas Agara, Nasarawa state Deputy Governor, has declared interest to vie for the office of President of Karate Federation of Nigeria.
Agara made the declaration in a press release signed by him and issued to newsmen in Lafia on Sunday.
He said his desire to reposition the Karate Federation for improved performance motivated him to indicate interest to vie for the position.
“I, Silas Ali Agara, Deputy Governor and Pillar of Sports in Nasarawa State, formally wish to declare my intention to vie for the Office of President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria.
“As a seasoned Sports Administrator, I hope to bring my wealth of experience to bear in the task of repositioning the Karate Federation for improved performance,” he said.
Agara added that the dwindling fortunes of the Federation over the years was disappointing and remained a cause of concern, hence the need to effect the desired change both in leadership and approach.
He commended the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for ensuring that a level playing ground was provided for the conduct of elections into offices of all Sports Federations in the country.
