Nasarawa Impeachment: Assembly Directs Chief Judge To Set Up Investigative Panel

Nasarawa State has directed state Chief Judge, Mr. Justice Suleiman Dikko, to set a panel to investigate against Governor Tanko Al-Makura, accused by lawmakers of committing impeachable offences.

The directive to the chief judge issued by the speaker of the state assembly, Musa Mohammed, ( – Nasarawa Central), after a motion moved by the majority Godiya Akwashiki (), representing Nasarawa Eggon West constituency.
The motion, which supported by Mohammed Baba Ibaku (), representing Udege Loko constituency, unanimously adopted by the 20 PDP lawmakers in the state assembly.
The motion , however, rejected by all four All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in the house.

For months, Mr. Al-Makura, who is a of the APC, has been embroiled in controversy the PDP-led state assembly.
