Lafia – The Nasarawa State Judiciary has set up five appeal panels to review judgements delivered by lower courts in the state.
Justice Suleiman Dikko, the Chief Judge (CJ) of the state, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Makurdi that 155 cases were to be reviewed.
According to him, 102 cases are civil matters, while 53 are criminal.
He said that each panel would be presided by two judges with himself and Justice Samuel Ayiwulu taking charge of Panel 1.
Justices John Vicko and Asmau Mainoma will handle Panel 2, while Justices Aisah Basir and Danjuma Oyibonu will handle Panel 3, he said.
Further details indicated that Panel 4 would be handled by James Abundha and Daniel Adek, while Justices Samuel Aboki and Haruna Offor would preside over Panel 5.
The Chief Judge warned judges against corrupt tendencies, and promised to set up a machinery to rid the state of unwholesome practices.
