Nasarawa lawmakers hail Gov Sule over predecessor’s projects

Lafia – The State House of has lauded Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s resolve to complete projects initiated by his predecessor, Sen. Tanko Al-Makura.

Alhaji Abdulaziz Danladi, Chairman, House Committee on Works and Transport, while inspecting the Lafia/Kwandere/Keffi road on Thursday, said that completing the projects was crucial to improving the living standard of the populace.

“We are happy with the continuity in governance exhibited by Gov. Sule. It is in the people’s interest that projects left by his predecessors are being completed.

“We have visited the Lafia/Kwandere/Keffi road; we have also visited the Lafia Airport. Both projects were initiated by Al-Makura. We are happy that Sule is on them and has promised to complete them and put them to use.

“As lawmakers, we have resolved to encourage the to continue in that lane. We have told him that we shall give him every support he will require to succeed,” he said.

The chairman promised that the legislators would supervise the projects to ensure that they conformed with specifications.

The News Agency of (NAN), reports that Mr George Doumith, site engineer supervising the airport and road projects, had earlier told the lawmakers and Alhaji Muazu Goshu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works,  that the road project had attained 55 per cent completion.

He also told them that the general fencing and finishing touches on the airport project would be completed in December.
