The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, introduced a range of innovative products as part of NASENI’s commitment to entering the market.
Presented at the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, May 9, 2024, the newly unveiled products include the NASENI Laptop, NASENI Android smartphone, NASENI Lithium battery, and NASENI 300watts LED Solar Street Lamp.
During the media briefing on the Agency’s initiatives and accomplishments aligned with NASENI Strategic Launchpad, Mr. Halilu revealed that some products are already available in the market, with others reserved for pre-booking throughout the year.
Highlighting previous achievements, Mr. Halilu mentioned the earlier introduction of the Solar Irrigation System, Electric Keke, Electric Motorcycle, and Solar-powered Cargo Tricycle, showcased during an oversight visit by the Senate Committee on NASENI. He emphasized the demand for Nigerian National Brand products in the market, underlining NASENI’s commitment to meeting this demand.
Mr. Halilu emphasized NASENI’s role as the sole purpose-built Agency of the Federal Government dedicated to domesticating technology in both capital and consumer goods. Under his leadership, the Agency has adopted a fast-track approach, focusing on Technology Transfer and Commercialization of its research and development (R&D) products to generate employment, foster economic growth, and reduce import dependency.
According to Mr. Halilu, NASENI follows the 3Cs principles of Creation, Collaboration, and Commercialization, partnering with both public and private sectors to ensure the products reach end-users. Leveraging existing technology and strategic partnerships, NASENI aims to deliver competitive and market-driven products for long-term sustainability, encouraging investors to support the nation’s industrialization efforts.
The briefing also highlighted various achievements and ongoing projects, including the development of the NASENI Proposal Evaluation Portal, NASENI Growth Hacker, NASENI ERP, NASENI eProcurement, NASENI StemBox, NASENI Innovation Hub, and PICTT projects such as Delta2 and DeltHer, among others.
