ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the return of 5,403 Internally Displaced People (IDPs) to the home after their stay in Camps.
The information officer, NEMA North East, Mr. Abdulkadir Ibrahim, in a statement on Friday, listed the returnees to include 1,517 in Mafa , 750 in konduga, 1,200 in Ngamboru and about 1,936 are due to return to Dikwa
Ibrahim noted that this was coming at a period Governor of Borno State Kashim Shettima and a team of NEMA North East zonal staff led by Zonal coordinator Alhaji Muhammed Kanar spent the night in Bama.
This, he stated, was in order to fast track the reconstruction of homes and other structures to facilitate the return of residents displaced by insurgency.
“The team delivered food items on behalf of the DG NEMA Alh muhammed sani Sidi,” he stated.
Ibrahim disclosed that the Zonal Coordinator also promised to provide building materials in line with the needs assessment conducted by NEMA and Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA)
