NFF U-13 South-East zonal competition commences Jan. 25 in Enugu

Enugu – The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) youth development recruitment and competitions for South-East zone would commence on Jan. 25 and end on Jan. 31 in Enugu, Enugu State FA Chairman has said.

The chairman, Chidi Offor-Okenwa, who spoke on Tuesday in Enugu said that the competition tagged “The Future Super Eagles Tournament’’ was aimed at catching the players young.
Offor-Okenwa said that the competitions would feature athletes from age 13 and would be staged in the six political zones before the finals.
“The zonal elimination will produce two teams for the final; the draw venue, date and time will be decided by the organisers at the zonal level, while the final will be drawn after the zonal eliminations,’’ Offor-Okenwa said.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday,
The Enugu State FA secretary, Francis Ugwu, who also spoke said that the competition notice arrived at the right time.

“It is good to start the year with a competition for the little children so that the much needed attention will be paid to discover exceptional players.
“This competition would be like a gift from NFF to the children and the competitors will like to give out all they have in their domain to start the year brightly with their admired career,’’ Ugwu said. (NAN)
