Lagos – Ms Eniola Adeniji, Founder, Women of Value Empowerment Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organisation devoted to training women, on Friday urged the youth wishing to go into businesses to have the right attitude.
Adeniji gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
She said that the right business attitudes such as determination, right motive, hard work, humility and customer satisfaction would produce positive results.
Adeniji also said that a good business person must set goals and work toward their achievement.
“Nothing just happens in life; people are the ones that make things happen.
“One needs to see the future in one’s eyes and consciously work toward it by setting daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly goals; these will accumulate into a big picture.
“Go on internship; use your money to acquire skills that you need, and work toward chasing your dreams,” she said.
Adeniji urged the youth to seek help when in need.
She also called on governments to create a conducive environment for the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
According to her, the country lacks adequate infrastructure needed for the growth of SMEs
“This means that, as an entrepreneur, you need to work 100 times harder.’’
She said that the youths, especially women and girls, had come to a stage where they should take steps to make a change in their lives.
“Being an entrepreneur in Nigeria is not an easy task, as there are many issues that hinders one from succeeding.(NAN)
