“It is important to celebrate these worthy staff members as a means of encouraging others to put in their best to reposition the authority.
“So, what we are doing today is the manifestation of this desire by the management to recognise our staff,’’ she said.
The managing director said the award categories were most punctual and regular staff, most resourceful, most disciplined and best performing staff in the 2015 senior staff promotion examination.
“Others are neatest staff, best sanitation staff, best security, best driver, the most organised staff and longest service staff award,” she said.
Beredugo said three staff members were recognised in each of the categories making it a total of 30.
She said the awardees were carefully selected by a committee and the management worked with them in approving the final list.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Mr Potopregha Jenkens, who won the most resourceful category, commended the management for the awards.
“The management should continue with this, money is not everything. Motivation is not all about money as awards like this will motivate people to do better,’’ he said.
Jenkens said the award came to him as a surprise and would motivate him to achieve higher productivity.
He urged other staff members to work hard because they would be rewarded at the appropriate time. (NAN)
