ABUJA – The Secretary-General, Nigeria Deaf Sports Federation (NDSF), Lukman Agbabiaka, on Tuesday in Abuja assured that the Nigerian team would win the African Deaf Football Championship in Ghana in March.
Agbabiaka told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the Deaf Eagles would represent the country and make the country proud.
“Ì have confidence in the ability of the team, especially as it has earlier made the country proud at the fourth edition of the West Africa Deaf Football Tournament in Togo in November.
““They will definitely come home with the trophy,’’ he said.
NAN recalls that the team finished in second place at the tournament.
The NDSF secretary-general further said the Nigerian team would start camping in January because it has limited time to prepare for the tournament.
NAN reports that the eight-team championship is the qualifier for the World Deaf Championship which will hold in Germany in 2016.
The list of participating countries will be released by the Confederation of Africa Deaf Sports (CADS) before the end of January.(NAN)
