President Muhammadu Buhari, while speaking today at the APC Caucus meeting in Abuja with regards to the recently postponed presidential and national assembly elections by INEC stated that when the elections hold on Saturday, those who plan to snatch ballot boxes will be doing so at the expense of their lives.
‘’Anyone who organises thugs to disrupt voting or to snatch ballot boxes will be doing that at the expense of his own life.’’ He said.
The president said the country has mobilised resources as much as the country can to support the military and other security agencies whom have identified ‘flash-points’ to effectively manage and prevent any situation.
He also lamented INEC’s decision to postpone the election given the level of support they got from the government.
He said that the postponement has also cost the APC a lot because they had mobilised a lot of resources to their constituencies and to purchase refreshments for voters who shouldn’t have any excuse to leave their polling units while voting and staying behind to defend their votes.
The meeting took place at the INEC headquarters in Abuja for about 1 hour before press men were asked to leave while a closed session will continue.
