Abuja – The Executive Secretary, Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Ms Yewande Sadiku says Nigeria will participate in the upcoming Abidjan International fair.
She stated this when a delegation from Cote D’Ivoire’s Ministry of Commerce led by Ms Alla Emma Sombo visited her in Abuja on Wednesday.
She said the fair was a good business opportunity for Nigeria, adding that the theme of the fair: “Entrepreneurship: a solution to unemployment and fight against poverty”, was apt and of great value to industrious Nigerians.
She promised to work with the Ivorian group for a successful outing at the fair and enjoined them to visit other relevant agencies to solicit for more participation.
Earlier, Sombo, the leader of the delegation said they were in Nigeria to promote the third edition of Abidjan International Fair.
Sombo said the fair was scheduled to hold in 2017 and solicited the support of NIPC in the mobilisation of Nigerian businessmen and companies to attend the fair in large numbers.
“Nigeria stands to benefit as the investment opportunities in the country will be showcased to potential investors from other parts of Africa’’, she said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that this was the first outing for Sadiku as chief executive of NIPC, taking over from Hajiya Ladi Katagum, who acted for eight months.
