Abuja – Eze Maxwell Kanu, President of Agura Hotels, Abuja, on Monday urged Nigerians to focus on things and programmes that unite the nation than things that divide.
Kanu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the country’s unity was paramount and must be pursued with all honesty and collectively.
He congratulated Nigeria on its 58th independence anniversary, saying that the country was on the road to greatness.
According to him, greatness can only be achieved if our politicians shun desperation for power and other vices that tend to pull us backwards.
The monarch, who described Nigeria as a blessed nation, said that it was time her politicians jettisoned political grandstanding, tribalism and corruption for a prosperous Nigeria.
“Our politicians should stop playing god, they must submit themselves to the will of God who is the ultimate.
“They must not allow the labours of our heroes past to be in vain by violating the law and promoting graft in governance,” he said.
NAN reports that Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation got her Independence on Oct. 1, 1960 from Britain.
