Enugu – The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations
(NIPR) has appealed to the Enugu State Government to ensure that
all public relations personnel in Ministries, Departments and
Agencies (MDAs) are professionals.
Mr Chike Ezugu, the Chairman Enugu State chapter of the institute, made the
appeal when he paid a courtesy call on the state Commissioner for
Information, Dr Godwin Udeuhele, on Wednesday.
Ezugu said that the institute was committed to ensuring that personnel in public
relations practice acquired the relevant qualification in order to discourage
quackery.
“NIPR is all about professionalism and excellence.”
The chairman also informed the commissioner about the forthcoming
National NIPR Annual General Conference for all state chapters
chairmen and secretaries as well as the investiture of Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
While handling over to the commissioner the nomination letter for the of investiture, Ezugu said: “The governor of the state was chosen by the national body because of his public relations qualities.’’
Responding, Udeuhele commended NIPR for its achievements, describing the institute as an important
organisation to be associated with.
He gave an assurance the state government would always partner with the institute. (NAN)
