AKURE – The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ondo State, on Tuesday, said the 2014 batch `B’ members would be discharged upon completion of service on Thursday without the usual passing-out parade.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mrs Funmi Okudaye, the NYSC Communication Officer in the state, made available to newsmen.
Okudaye had earlier said in a statement that the ceremony would be held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade in Akure.
However, the statement said the latest directive was an instruction from the National Secretariat in Abuja.

She noted that the change of plan was based on security report.
She stated that “all earlier plans for the ceremony to be held at Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade in Akure are hereby cancelled.’’
She added that outgoing corps members would be issued their discharge certificates at the NYSC local government offices.
She then urged the corps members to pick up their certificates at the local government offices on Thursday. (NAN)
