NPFL: NFF, LMC pick new dates for final fixtures

Fresh dates have been slated for the concluding round of matches in the 2020-21 NPFL season as well as the 2021 Aiteo Cup final reports www.aclsports.com.


Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and League Management Company (LMC) have made final alterations the final dates based on necessity.

It has been revealed that the final round of matches in the league (Week 38), earlier scheduled for Sunday, August 8, 2021, will now be played on Thursday, August 5, 2021, in all the designated top-flight venues.

In addition, the 2021 Aiteo Cup final (Nigeria’s Cup competition final) will take place on Sunday, August 8, 2021.


The adjustments gathered were due August 8 deadline that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) gave to Nigeria to submit names of their representatives in next season’s inter-club competitions.

The arrangements have also seen four Week 37 fixtures rescheduled. The involving Aiteo Cup semi-finalists; United vs. Lobi Stars, Nasarawa United vs. Rangers, Enyimba vs. Sunshine Stars have all been postponed for an extra twenty-four hours, till Monday, August 2, 2021 (while Kano Pillars vs. Wikki Tourists was also shifted for fair play).

The two semi-final matches in Men’s Aiteo Cup will be played on Friday, July 30, 2021. Nasarawa United will face Sunshine Stars in Asaba while United will trade tackles neighbours Bayelsa United in Lagos.
