Sundiata Post – The MD Nigeria Railway corporation, Mr.Freeman Okhiria has disclosed plans to reduce the number of stops between Idu in Abuja and Rigasa in Kaduna to 3.
Speaking to our correspondent in Abuja, Okhiria said this was necessary to reduce the time taken to reach Kaduna as well as maximize viable stations.
Responding to questions on the fare, he said there will be a 50% increase to enable the corporation take care of the increased cost of fuel.
The MD expressed satisfaction with the patronage so far, even from the elite, adding that in 2017, efforts on the Calabar -portHarcourt and Lagos- Kano will be doubled to ensure the spread of the safest means of transportation round the nation.
The Abuja- Kaduna service presently runs twice daily and cost N500 for economy while VIP coaches costs N900.
