Abuja – Mr Waheed Popoola, the Provost, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Academy, has charged personnel of the corps to exercise regularly to keep fit following the security challenges in the country.
Popoola gave the charge on Saturday in Abuja at a maiden route march organised by the NSCDC.
“It is only when we are physically fit that we can deploy our strength to carry out our constitutional responsibilities and participate in joint operation with sister services,’’ he said.
Popoola, who noted that “health is wealth,’’ charged the personnel on the need to exercise regularly, adding that “physically-fit personnel are asset to the service and the nation.’’

“I am highly impressed with the turnout and conduct of the officers and men of the corps throughout the exercise.
“This is a testimony that we are all fit and enthusiastic to face any encounter in the course of our duty,’’ Popoola said.
