Lagos – Renovation of the knock-up hall of the National Stadium in Lagos has commenced, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
NAN learnt that the renovation was at the instance of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF).
Prior to the renovation, the right wing of the hall had been leaking which makes the hall water logged whenever it rains.
The situation had been so before the All African Games in August.
Commenting on the project, NTTF’s Secretary-General, Chinedu Ezealah-Ogundare told NAN that the renovation would also include the repair of air conditioners, electrical and water systems.
She also said that other section of the hall would be touched.
“This is an all inclusive renovation that would cover all that needed to be visited. The leaking roof has lingered on for long.
“We are doing all at once so as to make the hall better for use. The leakages made it difficult for that section of the hall to be used.
“The rain is gradually approaching and its necessary that we fix most especially the roof before it goes out of hand,” she said. (NAN)
