ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The Nigerian Union of Journalism (NUJ) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for restoring the accreditation of the Villa Press Pass of the Radio/TV Deutsche Welle State House Correspondent, Ubale Musa, that was withdrawn by former President Goodluck Jonathan, during his last days in office.
In a statement by the Secretary-General of the NUJ, Shuiabu Usman Leman, the NUJ said the development signals the commitment of the Buhari administration towards press freedom and openness in the affairs of government.
According to him, “Certainly this will avail the citizens the opportunity to understand the efforts of Government in national issues and will clear doubt and speculation.
“The media will support the Buhari’s administration commitment to sustainable growth of the Nigerian economy through fair and unbaised.decisions on key economic polices and the fight against corruption and insecurity. We commend this heartwarming decision”.
The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, had on Monday presented the Villa Press Pass to Ubale.

Adesina said that Musa’s re-accreditation was as a State House correspondent was restored in keeping with Buhari’s commitment to correcting the wrongs of the past.
