Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Edo state Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has charged a non governmental and not for profit making organisation, Enibokun-Edoror Foundation to assist his administration in monitoring teachers in Edo Central Senatorial district.
Governor Obaseki made this appeal to the Foundation on Tuesday, 17th July in government House, Benin city while commending the Board Members of the Foundation that paid him a courtesy visit.
He commended the efforts of the Foundation, for it’s various free skills acquisition training and empowerment programmes that are aimed at giving a lease of life to the girl child, the women and the youths generaly in our society.

The governor who promised to assist the Foundation in broadening it’s scope of activities, also appealed to the leadership of the Foundation to join hands with the government in seeing that the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (Edo BEST) Project is successful by monitoring the teachers and ensuring they are always on duty in their area of activities, Edo Central. He said; ‘one of the ways we are curtailing human trafficking and illegal migration, is to improve education especially at the Basic level…’ Governor Obaseki added that; ‘… when we see people like you who are concerned about the situation of young people, and ready to empower them with hand on skills, we have no choice but to work with and support you…’
The President of the Foundation, Princess Mrs. Rosemary Edoror, commended Gov. Obaseki led administration for the development of the state, especially in the area of road infrastructure; She revealed that the Foundation is engaged in free training of the youths in different skills including Fashion design, ICT, Bead making and Cosmetology after which the indigent ones are empowered to start off their own businesses.

The Foundation she said, also renders financial assistance to indigent students in schools. Continuing, she said the Foundation hope to, in the nearest future, venture into Electrical and Auto repairs subject to availability of financial and material resources.
Mrs. Rosemary Edoror, thanked Rt. Hon. Victor Edoror, Deputy Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, for bringing the Foundation into existence. She thanked Chiefs Patrick Agbator and Hon. Joe Okojie who donated #2M each to the Foundation during it’s inauguration in 2016.
The Foundation however, sought assistance from the government to enable it sustain and expand their programmes.
The Board Members of the Foundation, also used the opportunity to confer the prestigious honour of the Grand Patron of Enibokun-Edoror Foundation on Gov. Godwin Obaseki in recognition of his good works in Edo State.
