Lagos – Lagos-based MFM FC’s forward, Austine Ogunye, says his side will triumph over Ifeanyi Ubah of Nnewi in the final game of the 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.
Ogunye said in a statement by the MFM spokeman Olawale Quadri on Friday that the encounter at Agege Township Stadium, Lagos would be explosive.
The intelligent striker, full of optimism going into the showdown, said that the “Olukoya Boys’’ were fired up to end the season with victory to stay in the NPFL.
“I don’t think we need anybody to tell us how important our game against Ifeanyi Ubah is. It’s a game of our life and we are ready to fight.
“Anything less than a victory means we are relegated.
“We have been training very hard since we returned from Lokoja and the coaching crew are not leaving anything to chance, their programmes this week have been great.
“Our response to training has been very impressive and the spirit in camp is really high as well. So, I believe we will emerge victorious on Sunday;’’ the statement said.
It said that the former Bendel Insurance marksman urged the club’s fans to cheer them on Sunday.
“I will like to tell our wonderful fans to come all out in their
numbers and cheer us to victory and to be patient with the team.
“In case we don’t score early goals because sometimes the goals delay, their kind words and support should be with us,’’ the statement quoted Ogunye as saying.
