Asaba –   The Wife of Delta Governor, Dame Edith Okowa has called on mothers, caregiver and children to get closer to God in order to attract more blessings.

Okowa made the call on Thursday in Asaba during a Christmas party organized for children in the state.

She urged the people of the state especially mothers to bring their children in the way of the lord , adding they would be held accountable by God on the last days for the upbringing of their children and wards.

The governor’s wife who is also the founder of the “05’’ initiative emphasized that the reason for the season was the birth of Jesus Christ, adding that it was not all about eating and drinking.

Okowa therefore advised them to reflect on their lives and society, adding that, “ Jesus is not going to come today as a baby but as a judge, tomorrow might be too late.

“This is the time to change; God is looking for who will worship Him at all times.’’

Earlier, the Director General of the “05’’ initiative, Mrs Oghenekevwe Agas said that Jesus Christ was born to save mankind from sin and death.

The occasion which features dancing competition, cutting of the Christmas cake attracted no fewer than 500 children from the 25 local government areas of the state. (NAN)
