Port Harcourt -Boma Iyaye, Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the Olympic Qualifying match, on Thursday, re-assured the U-23 team and their Congolese counterparts of maximum security, before during and after the match.
The match has been scheduled to hold at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Iyaye told newsmen in Port Harcourt that the Rivers State Government was determined to make the match a memorable one in a
wonderful atmosphere at the facility.
He said that adequate security and logistics had been installed for a hitch-free match, and called on football fans to come out to
cheer the National team to victory.
According to Iyaye, Gov Nyesom Wike is determined to re-launch the state on the world map of sports, because
of its importance to his administration.
The chairman said there would be free transportation at different points in the city to convey fans to the venue and that
the gates of the stadium would be open for spectators from 11a.m.
Iyaye thanked the Governor for accepting to host the match and providing support for the LOC to ensure that there was adequate arrangements.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the LOC comprised seasoned sports administrators, Adokiye Amesimaka, Opunabo Inko-Tariah, Mercy Akide Udoh, Eddy Mark, Chris Green, Honour Sirawoo and Albert Chinwo. (NAN)
