Akure – The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly, Hon Bamidele Oleyelogun, has called on Muslims and non-Muslims to pray fervently for Nigeria and its leaders.
In his Sallah message on Sunday in Akure, Oleyelogun congratulated Muslim faithful for the successful completion of Ramadan.
He said the completion of Ramadan was worth celebrating in view of the current economic situation in the country.
“I want to salute the courage and perseverance of my Muslim brothers and sisters, and I pray that Allah will continue to sustain them and the people of Ondo state”.
“May the lessons of Ramadan which are piety, self-denial, prayers and generosity to the poor and needy be with us for all
time.”
“I believe with intense prayer and encouragement, tenacity and doggedness, Nigeria will get to her enviable height among comity of Nations, ” he said.
The speaker called on Nigerians to pray for the country’s leaders and God to grant President Muhammadu Buhari speedy recovery.
He stated that what Nigeria needs at the moment is intense prayer, dedication and commitment to the the project that will sustain the unity of the country.
He criticised those agitating for secession and appealed to Nigerians to imbibe tolerance, spirit of unity and oneness.
“We are one family and we must see ourselves as one entity formidable in greatness and prosperity for all,” he added.
