Osogbo – An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded two men in Ilesa Prison over alleged murder of an undergraduate student.
The Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, ordered that the accused, Elijah Oyebode, 22, and Yusuf Ajibade, 25, be remanded in prison due to the magnitude of the offence committed.
Aluko adjourned mention of the case till March 30.
The Prosecutor, Sp. Mireti Wilson, had told the court that the duo committed the offence on Dec. 23, 2016 at about 1.00 p.m. in Egbeda Iragbiji area of Osun.
“The accused conspired and killed Rofiat Damilola, a 400 Level student of University of Osun and dumped her body in the bush.”
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 324, 319(1) and 427 of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol.11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
Wilson also told the court that he had sent a copy of the case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
The plea of the accused, who are facing three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and murder, was not taken.
