Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State Labour Party Chairman, Comrade Solomon Ndam, has condemned the killing of Hon. Sylvanus Namang, the All Progressive Congress (APC), State Publicity Secretary, by unknown gunmen in Pankshin Local Government Area of the State.
Namang was murdered in cold blood by gunmen on Sunday evening in a popular joint in Pankshin where he went to buy some items after attending a burial ceremony report confirms.
However, describing the killing as unfortunate and shocking, Ndam said the late scribe-man was a dedicated spokesman of the APC on the Plateau who made an impact on the party and State as a whole.
The Labour Party boss described the perpetrators of the dastardly act as cowards whose stock in trade is to maim and kill innocent citizens and requested the security agencies to take immediate action so as to arrest the culprits and make them face the full wrath of the law.
He extends his sincere condolences to the family Namang left behind, praying to God to wrap them with soothing comfort and grant him eternal rest.
He also called on the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), to swing into action by charging the security operatives to unearth those behind the killing of one another, rather than always go to pay courtesy calls instead of embarking on investigative Journalism.
“I also call on security agencies to intensify efforts to track down the perpetrators of the crime and bring them to justice”, Ndam said.
