Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State Labour Party Chairman, Comrade Solomon Ndam, has said the party is going ahead with the Re-run elections slated for Saturday February 3, 2024.
Recall that the Appeal Court had nullified the Jos North/Bassa federal house of representative election, as well as Plateau North Senatorial election and had ordered for a re-run.
However, the State Chairman of the Inter- Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Alhaji Dogara Abubaka had stated on Thursday that if the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), will not be participating in the Saturday elections, then all the political parties under its umbrella will boycott the elections.
Reacting to the IPAC threat, Ndam said that the Labour Party will not key into such a decision, saying that the decision of IPAC is self-serving.
According to him: The Labour Party for the avoidance of doubt, hereby totally and unequivocally dissociates itself from the position of IPAC which is purportedly on behalf of all political parties in the State.
“We perceive the so-called speech by the IPAC as self-serving and a mere expression of personal views which has no bearing on our position as a political party”, Ndam said.
