Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State Labour Party (LP), has held her Ward, Local Government and  State Congresses and has elected Comrade Solomon Ndam as the Chairman of the Party.

The Congress from Alhaji Lamidi Apapa faction also elected what it termed a formidable exco of the Party, putting to rest a factional or parallel exco that has generated disaffection in the Party. https://sundiatapost.com/plateau-labour-party-disown-factional-body/

“The Labour Party on the Plateau, has put to rest the issues of any supposed faction anywhere by this Congress, hence I will reiterate to all lovers of democracy in the State to join hands with us and move the State forward because only through this can we dislodge the current inept government”, the Party Chairman, Ndam said on Saturday, while delivering his acceptance speech.

The Party Chairman called on the former leadership of the Party, headed by Mrs Grace Zamfara to also join hands with the new team to deliver the Labour Party in the State in the forthcoming by-election.

“I call on Grace Zamfara and her cohorts to see that its game over for them, hence the need for them to come and join hands together and deliver our candidates in the upcoming National Assembly rerun elections in Plateau.

“The time for fighting is over as a result of these constitutionally recognised congresses. I will not forget to remind the security personnel that witness this event to be mindful and deal decisively with any imposter henceforth that may claim the leadership of the Labour Party in Plateau State”, Ndam said. https://sundiatapost.com/plateau-labour-party-senatorial-candidate-zi-tasks-supporters-on-pvc/

On the recent killings in the State, especially the recent Christmas Eve massacre by suspected Fulani bandits, Ndam called the People’s Democratic Party led government in the State to double it’s efforts in ensuring that the lives of the people it promised to protect are protected from the enemies of the State.

The Labour Party Chairman said the aim of the Fulani bandits to grab and occupy lands in the State, will not see the light of the day especially when his Party takes over the leadership of Plateau.

“I cannot dwell my speech mostly on the Congress and forget the evil act perpetrated by the enemies of Plateau, the land grabbers, invaders, agents of ethnic cleansing and barbaric agents of genocide who took our beloved State by surprise on the 24th of December 2023 and slaughtered almost 200 unarmed civilians in their sleep within some communities in Bokkos Local Government Area”, he said.

On the shutting down of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Ndam also called on the clueless Speaker of the Assembly to immediately call off the unnecessary recession and reconvene the house to pass stringent laws that will curb and stop any future killings by the Fulani bandits.

Our correspondent reports that members of the diplomatic core, the State Security personnel, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the representative of the National Chairman, Alhaji Lamidi Apapa and Acting members of the State executive working committee, were all present at the Congress.
