Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Plateau State Governor, Caleb Muftwang, has again dismissed a misleading report making the rounds that his government is training militias in the name of counter terrorism operatives.
The Governor said it is untrue that his administration will embark on such a journey when security agencies are working closely with the government to ensure that lasting peace returns to the State. https://sundiatapost.com/appeal-court-judgment-plateau-gov-mutfwang-calls-for-calm-heads-to-supreme-court/
“This claim can only be attributed to individuals who are crisis merchants and do not want peace to return to the State. The unfortunate falsehood is deliberately crafted to mislead citizens and instigate confusion”, Mutfwang said in a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Gyang Bere.
According to him: “I vehemently refuted these unfounded allegations.
“My administration is committed to reinforcing the established State security outfit, “Operation Rainbow”.
“This initiative is being done in collaboration with federal security agencies and is aimed at enhancing the protection of rural communities across Plateau State. https://sundiatapost.com/appeal-court-sacks-plateau-pdp-gov-mutfwang-declares-apc-candidate-winner/
“The selection of competent and trustworthy youths from the 17 Local Government Areas for training, is solely focused on providing early warning signals, for prompt interventions by conventional security agencies.
“The ongoing training, which is focused on areas facing significant security challenges, will extend to other council areas without delay.
“I am dedicated to fostering a united and inclusive Plateau and my administration’s commitment to uphold constitutional principles of safeguarding lives and properties, remains resolute in the pursuit of unity within the State and is undeterred by falsehoods”, the Governor said.
