ABUJA – The police on Wednesday arraigned a 25-year-old man, Adamu Musa, in a Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, for alleged abduction.
The accused who resides at Kabusa village, Apo, Abuja ,is standing trial on a two-count charge of criminal conspiracy and abduction.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Shedrack Dauda, told the court that one Ibrahim Yunusa of Shereh, Kabusa village, Apo, Abuja, reported the matter at the Apo Police Station on June 10.

According to him, the accused criminally conspired with one Mubarak Adamu, now at large, and deceived the complainant’s brother, one Abubakar Yunusa that they were going to buy a motorcycle for him.
He said that the motorcycle was to be used for commercial purposes, but instead, the accused and Adamu abducted the complainant’s brother.
Dauda said that since then, the complainant has not seen his brother and efforts made to trace him proved abortive.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 97and 273 of the Penal Code.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
The Judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety that must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.
He adjourned the case till July 31 for hearing. (NAN)
