DAMATURU – The Yobe Police Command has confirmed an explosion on Tuesday in Damaturu, the state capital.

The command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Nansak Chewang, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu.

He said that the command, however, could not ascertained the extent of casualty in the blast.

“You know it happened just this night (last night) we are yet to establish what happened and the details,” the police spokesman said.

NAN, however, learnt that the explosion occurred at a football viewing centre along ‘Tsamiyan Lilo’ area of Damaturu. (NAN)
