The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the fire incident at the Nigerian Supreme Court building in Abuja on Monday morning.
It was earlier reported that a section of the Nigerian Supreme Court building at the Three Arms Zone in Abuja is on fire.
It was learnt that workers had been evacuating vital documents and other things from the building to prevent them from getting burnt.
However, the FCT Police Spokesperson Josephine Adeh, who confirmed the incident in a statement, asserted that the situation is under control.
The statement reads in part; “On the 25/09/2023 at about 7am there was a fire incident at Supreme Court. Situation under control, fire service and police all on ground, only two chambers of two judges were affected.
“At the moment properties destroyed yet to be ascertained, Cause of fire is still being investigated by appropriate authorities, further information will be communicated Later,” the statement added.
