Birnin Kebbi- The Police in Kebbi State have warned voters and politicians against violation of electoral laws during the forthcoming general elections.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Posi Ajuwa, gave the warning while addressing stakeholders’ forum organised by INEC in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
He said while the police would uphold human rights of people, the people needed to uphold the laws governing the elections.

Ajuwa urged politicians to caution their supporters on the need to maintain peace at the elections.
Ajuwa said the command would ensure strict enforcement of law and order during the elections.
He said the record of peaceful elections in the state would be maintained.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abdullahi Zarewa, said INEC would conduct hitch-free elections.
He said people with disability would be accorded priority to vote under a guide while the elderly and women would be accorded special recognition.
The REC said the identified 42 polling units with challenges of Permanent Voter Cards would be rectified.
A cross section of participants at the forum expressed satisfaction with the briefing by INEC and security agencies and pledged their support for peaceful elections. (NAN)
