Kano – Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state on Thursday said the state government has reduced polio infestations in the state by 80 per cent.

Ganduje said this when he spoke at the inauguration of a taskforce on Polio Eradication at the Government House in Kano.
According to him, the state government has noted some significant improvements in its polio eradication campaign.
The governor urged members of the task force to see their appointment as an opportunity to contribute their quota towards the eradication of polio in the state.
He drew the attention of the task force to the negative effects of polio on children and charged the committee to embark on massive awareness campaign against the disease.
Ganduje commen health workers and traditional rulers for their sensitisation and enlightenment programmes of the people, particularly in rural areas.
The taskforce has the Deputy Gov., Prof. Hafizu Abubakar, as its chairman. (NAN)
