Sundiata News has received confirmation that Mukaila Lamidi, also known as Auxiliary, the former chairman of the Oyo State Park Management System, has been apprehended by the Department of State Services.
Auxiliary was reportedly arrested at his residence in the Olodo area of Ibadan, the state capital, around 4:00 pm on Tuesday.
According to a source who preferred to remain anonymous, Auxiliary’s arrest followed an interview he gave on Saturday, May 4, where he accused Seye Famojuro, a close ally of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, of orchestrating his troubles.
In the interview, conducted in Yoruba by media personnel Ajibola Akinyefa, Auxiliary stated, “If he (Famojuro) is the governor or Seyi Makinde is, we will know. It is just a matter of time. Everybody will face the consequences of their actions. The people he chose to manage the park are cheating themselves.”
When questioned about his removal due to alleged hooliganism, Auxiliary questioned the number of people who reported being assaulted by him to the police. He also remarked that Seye would eventually return to Ijesha as Ibadan was not his hometown.
In May 2023, Auxiliary was previously arrested in connection with an alleged attempt by his supporters to cause unrest in the state following the dissolution of the PMS committee by Governor Makinde.
Despite multiple attempts to reach the spokesperson for the DSS, Peter Afunnaya, there was no response to calls or messages.
