Bauchi- The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Sen. Bala Mohammed, has condemned the attitude of some thugs, suspected to have been sponsored to disrupt the PDP Presidential Campaign Rally in Bauchi.
Mohammed, who expressed his disappointment in an interview with newsmen shortly after the incident, however called on PDP supporters, not to retaliate.
“I must be very honest with you, as a Nigerian and somebody who is very proud of our northern values and the values that we have imbibed from great Nigerians, like Sir Abubakar and Tafawa Balewa, I am disappointed.
“I am so disappointed with the behaviour, with the pattern and the delivery of politics of chicanery, mischief, treachery, and hatred, shown here.

“You have seen what happened to me on stage; this is the price of politics and nation building that I must pay as a Nigerian.
“I am not disgraced. I am very proud of what happened to me and I will do it even if it will cost my life to make sure that Nigeria has deepened the spirit of liberty and freedom, and of course nationalism, building bridges that our fore fathers started building with solid foundation,’’ he said.
He called on the supporters of PDP not to retaliate, but continue to hold their heads high and be accommodating, adding that with the support of the people, the party will put a good fight in the February elections.
“These are just pocket of mischief and treachery, but of cause , we know our popularity, we know the support that we have as Nigerians, sons and daughters of Bauchi, that are in PDP, and indeed the presidential candidate, who is a good Product.
“I call on the people especially supporters of PDP to continue to hold their heads high, to be accommodating, and not to imbibe the culture of vengeance.
“That is what has brought us to leadership positions and we have been leading by the grace of God, and with the support of the peiople.
“In leadership, you can be tested; certainly this is the price of leadership that we must pay,’’ the minister said.
