Abuja – Prince Arthur Eze, the Chief Executive Officer, Atlas Oranto Oil Exploration Company, has advised Nigerians to shun `’primitive accumulation of wealth’’ at the detriment of the common people and the nation.
Eze gave the advice in a statement issued by Mr Aniete Akpausoh, the National Secretary of Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) on Tuesday in Abuja.
Akpausoh said Eze spoke when the union presented him with an award of “Icon of Infrastructure in the Broadcast Industry’’.
Eze noted that primitive accumulation of wealth was becoming the order of the day in the country, especially among the political class.
“We must shun primitive accumulation of wealth which is at the detriment of the common people and the nation.
“It is time for the privileged few in the society to come to the aid of the less privileged and the country,’’ he said.
Eze also called on Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari administration in the fight against corruption, adding that the president meant well for the nation.
Eze commended RATTAWU for acknowledging his contributions to the broadcast industry, saying the award would stimulate him to do more.
RATTAWU’s newly elected President; Mr Kabir Tsanni said the award was in recognition and appreciation of Eze numerous contributions to the development of the broadcast industry.
“Also, the rational for the award is that the awardee is the first indigenous engineer that establish most of the television and radio stations in the country,’’ Tsanni said.
He described Eze as a philanthropist, detribalised Nigerian and a bridge builder.
