Led by the Chairman of the Commission, Justice Lawan W. Mahmoud (retd), members of the Commission interacted with the police in the state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Commission appreciated the police for the vital role they played in restoring peace, order and security during the protest in the state.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, expressed optimism that the members of Commission are equal to the tasks before them
He recalled that ‘ In the lead-up of the planned protest, the police did a lot of home work, we engaged civil society organisations, religious and ethnic leaders, students unions, youth groups and other relevant stakeholders to discourage the protest”.
He added that the Command had done a lot in maintaining law and order after the protest while assuring that Command’s would fully support the Commission in the ongoing inquiry.
