ABUJA – Rev. Femi Fashagba, the President of Ogale Progressive Union, Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi, has called on community leaders to always recognise the values and contributions of their members to development.
Fashagba said this in a statement issued by the union in Abuja on Saturday.
He said the call was necessary to boost the courage of members of communities in rendering selfless services for the development of their respective communities.
According to the statement, in the light of this, the union had decided to give awards to some distinguished Nigerians and eminent sons and daughters of the town on Oct. 25.
It said some of the dignitaries to be given awards included former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Sen. Smart Adeyemi, among others.
It also said the community would crown Oba Michael Otitoju as Ologale of Ogale during the occasion at the oba’s palace, Ogale. (NAN)
