After spending over two decades in the United States of America, gathering various certificates and raising her family, one time Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria and one of the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood, Regina Askia-Williams, has returned to the country.
Regina, who, alongside the likes of Liz Benson, Gloria Anozie, Kate Henshaw and Sandra Achums, made the movie industry a must watch in the 80s and 90s, arrived Nigeria on the 5th of April and promptly took off to her homeland, Akwa Ibom State, to fraternize with her family, where she took her time to sample all the local delicacies available.
The mother of three kids who is now a fully certified Oncology Nurse at the NYC Hospital in New York, took to her Facebook to announce her arrival.
This is what she wrote:
“Finally in my mother’s arms, in the village. Finally got my share of the ikpan, the isip mbakara, the ekpang nkukwo, aaahhh……
“Walked around the ranging farm house; my sister had the house all done up;
Nieces and nephews vying to show new skills and sending messages of love to Teesa and Rudy……..
“Had long discussion with Uncle mmi. It was sunny, beautiful and hot….Palm fronds swaying, cool breeze blowing, tropical scents wafting…….Africa my Africa.” (Pulse)
