Abuja (Sundiata Post) – President Muhammadu Buhari has asked his cabinet members to continue with their works till Tuesday, 28th May when they will handover to the permanent secretaries in their respective ministries.
Buhari who, contrary to expectations, refused to dissolve cabinet, disclosed this during the valedictory session held today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Recall that the Federal Executive Council meeting held on Monday with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo presiding while President Buhari was at Makkah, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to observe Umrah.
President Buhari returned to Nigeria on Tuesday ahead of the valedictory session.
In attendance at the meeting are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff to the President Abba Kyari, Head of Service of the Federations, Winifred Oyo-Ita, National Security Adviser Babagana Monguno and 31 ministers.
Sundiata Post recalls that the inauguration of the second term tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is slated for 29th of May 2019.
