The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Yobo, an indigene of Rivers, quit the national team after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Iyaye said the state would do everything possible to ensure that the match was a success.
“Perhaps most of you will not remember. Joseph Yobo, former Captain of the Super Eagles, is the first Nigerian player to attain 100 caps for the Senior National Team.
“This event is very important to the state because he is a Rivers’ son, who started his career here. We are delighted to associate with this epitome of success”, he said.
Iyaye said the state government will address an international news conference in Lagos on Feb. 29 to unveil details of the event. (NAN)
