Some robbers on Thursday shot a man, who came out of a bank on Mushin Road in the Isolo area of Lagos, collected his money and fled.
Our correspondent learnt that the victim, whose name had yet to be ascertained, was attacked while entering his vehicle. He was reportedly shot in the head and in the stomach.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the two-man gang came at about 1pm and escaped on a motorcycle after the operation.
A resident, who gave his name simply as Matthew, said the victim was shot in the head, adding, “We initially thought he was dead.”
[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]A shop owner, who declined to disclose his name, said the robbers might have trailed the man to the bank.
He said, “After the robbery, we rushed the man to a hospital. We learnt that the robbers had been waiting a little distance from the bank. He was about entering his vehicle when they robbed him.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident.
He said, “As the man came out of the bank, one of the robbers shot at him and escaped. The police are on the heels of the robbers, while the man is in a hospital.”
