Moscow – Russian representatives in the Russian-Turkish commission on the Syrian truce have registered two violations of the ceasefire regime in Syria over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defence Ministry said Thursday.

Russia-Turkey Commission on violations of the Joint Agreement has registered two cases of firing in the provinces
of Latakia.
“The Turkish party has registered 5 cases of ceasefire violations in the provinces of Damascus (3),
and Daraa (2).” the ministry’s Centre for Syrian reconciliation said in a daily bulletin.
The ministry said most violation cases have been registered in the areas controlled by militants of the Islamic State (IS) and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist groups, both banned in Russia.
The civil war in Syria between the government and various opposition and terror groups has been ongoing since 2011.
Russia, Iran and Turkey are guarantors of the Syrian ceasefire regime.
The three ceasefire guarantor states signed a memorandum on the establishment of four safe zones in the war-torn at the Astana talks on the Syrian settlement that took place on May 3 and May 4.
The document came into force on May 6.
