Saleswoman arraigned over theft of employer’s N832, 000 goods

Lagos –  For allegedly stealing her employer’s goods valued at N832, 830, a saleswoman, Yemisi Lawal, was on Friday arraigned  an Abule Egba ’  Court Lagos.

Lawal, 43, lives at 3, Fatolu St., Ipaja, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a -count charge of stealing and causing a breach of .

She, however,  pleaded not guilty charges.

prosecutor, Insp  Racheal Williams, had  told court that offences were committed between October 2013 and  2014 at Ipaja.

She said the complainant, Mrs Rose Ibini, handed over her shop the accused while she was away.

“On her return, she discovered that the goods her shop had dwindled while the proceeds of the sales could not be produced.

“The accused promised refund the , but has  failed redeem her promise for almost a year now.’’

The offences, according to the prosecutor, violate Sections 166 and 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos , 2011.

The Magistrate, Mrs Adenike Shoubi, granted the accused bail the sum of N750,000 sureties like sum.
