Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Senate on Tuesday moved to investigate the shutting down of Ondo State House of Asssembly.
Senator Abiodun Olujimi who came through order 42 and 52, informed the Senate that Ondo State Assembly has been shut down following the invasion of the legislature by thugs.
According to Olujimi, ” The Ondo State legislature has been shut down after thugs invaded the State Assembly to stop the state law makers from sitting.
“The Minority Leader informed that the 18 out of 22 members of State House of Assembly decided to remove their presiding officers. However, after the swearing in of the new officials, thugs invaded the Assembly and inflicted different degree of injuries on some members. One of them who sustained injuries are still on admission in Lagos.
The red chamber therefore mandated its committee on Police Affairs to investigate the infraction that led to the shut down of Ondo State Assembly and report back in two days.
