Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Federal lawmaker representing Gombe central constituency at the red chamber, Senator Danjuma Goje has withdrawn from the contest for the Senate Presidency of the 9th Assembly.
The former Gombe state governor also endorsed the Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan, for the position.
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, disclosed this to newsmen shortly after their meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.

However, details of the meeting which held behind closed doors at the Presidential villa, Abuja, were not known at the time of filing this report.
El-Rufai was accompanied by Senators Lawan, Goje and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Senator Ita Enang, while briefing State House Correspondents on the latest development.
Recall that the senate Presidency election is expected to hold on June 11.
